The É«×ۺϾþà University International City Managers Association Student Chapter helps connect students with the field of local government management and provides opportunities to learn from current professionals. Through the chapter, students gain exposure to career paths in public service, access ICMA resources, and build relationships with practitioners who can support their growth as the next generation of local government leaders.

The É«×ۺϾþà University Model United Nations Club participates in the National Model United Nations Conference in New York City each spring. In recent years, students have represented countries including Panama, Thailand, Pakistan, Argentina, Hungary, Palestine, Côte d’Ivoire, and Guyana on committees including the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the Security Council. The club’s efforts have earned multiple conference awards.

Throughout the year, members meet weekly to prepare for the conference—learning how to draft UN resolutions, practice diplomacy, and follow UN committee procedures. Students who participate in the conference enroll in POSC 111: Model United Nations (offered every spring), and members are also encouraged to take POSC 415: The UN System.

The Model UN Club welcomes all students interested in diplomacy, global politics, and international organizations—no prior experience required.

The É«×ۺϾþà University Mock Trial Team gives students the opportunity to explore the American legal system through hands-on competition. Team members take on the roles of attorneys and witnesses in simulated trial cases, practicing skills in public speaking, critical thinking, and legal argumentation.

Each year, the team competes in regional tournaments sponsored by the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA), where students gain experience presenting cases, questioning witnesses, and delivering opening and closing statements before real judges and attorneys.

Participation in Mock Trial is open to all students, regardless of major or prior experience. It offers excellent preparation for careers in law, public service, and related fields.

Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, is classified by the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) as an upper-division, specialized honor society.

Membership is open to students who:

• Have completed at least 18 credit hours of political science coursework
• Hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Hold a GPA of 3.25 or higher in political science courses

Members receive a certificate of recognition and are eligible to wear honor regalia at Commencement. Membership also provides access to scholarships, networking opportunities, and national recognition through Pi Sigma Alpha’s programs and events.

The Political Science & International Studies Club was created by students and faculty who wanted to build stronger connections among Political Science and International Studies majors. The club offers opportunities for students to network and engage with others who are politically aware and globally minded.

Shaped by student interests, the club regularly hosts:

• Discussions and debates on student-submitted topics
• Professional development workshops, including résumé and LinkedIn building
• Politics-related field trips
• Opportunities to get involved in real-world politics
• Internship and job connections tailored to members’ interests
