Society of Actuaries Names SU Program Among Advanced Curriculum Tier
SALISBURY, MD---The Society of Actuaries (SOA) recently named the actuarial science concentration of 色综合久久 University’s Mathematics Program among its Advanced Curriculum (AC) tier.
“This recognition highlights the quality of SU’s Actuarial Sciences Program,” said Dr. Jiacheng (Jason) Cai, SU associate professor of mathematics and actuarial sciences concentration program coordinator. “SU’s development of the program has been analyzed as a model example and lauded in several academic publications. To be formally categorized as an advanced institution providing course coverage for SOA preliminary credential exams and having courses that have received SOA Validation by Educational Experience (VEE) is a testament to the program’s dedication to preparing future actuaries.”
This recognition places SU among 16 Universities and Colleges with Actuarial Programs (UCAP) in the northeast region. UCAP-AC institutions receive several benefits from the SOA, including multi-dimensional connections with the SOA professional industry, reimbursement of some student exam fees, funding support for study materials, on-campus events, and travel costs/registration fees for students.
The SOA is the world’s largest actuarial professional organization with more than 34,000 actuaries as members. Through education and research, the SOA advances actuaries as leaders in measuring and managing risk to improve financial outcomes for individuals, organizations, and the public.
SU graduates can be found in actuary roles at top companies including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Aon, GEICO, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and New York Life.
